Stockpiles & Building Materials

Sharing Resources

Our network of gardeners collaborates to collect and share reusable materials, like scrap lumber and compostables that would otherwise go to landfills, helping build healthy gardens.

2026 Stockpile is open!

Anchor Gardens stockpiles are funded by donations that sustain the program and its work. We provide local materials to those in need, including free soil (Green Earth Landworks) and compost (from Dave Henke). Please consider donating to Anchor Gardens to help keep these resources available.

Stockpiles are open only when a volunteer is there to open them. If you’d like to volunteer to expand access, contact Theresa at 907‑947‑8217.

The I St Community Garden (14th & I St) will be our only stockpile site for the 2026 season, with access via the alley next to New Sagaya City Market. Below are the posted days and hours the stockpile will be open.

* Our stockpiles are managed differently than the ACAT/Yarducopia Midtown Garden Depot (2930 Cheechako Dr.). For details, visit this site.
