Lasagna Gardens are a no till method of gardening that hold water exceptionally well and builds nutrient dense soil by composting waste stream resources. This method works extremely well in our Arctic climate and is relatively inexpensive to build.
For those attending the workshop, this class is free but we ask for your help in bringing some materials necessary to build these gardens. All materials can be delivered the day of the workshop, May 25th.
- Kitchen scraps – no meat, save your food scraps
- Coffee Grounds – Save your own coffee grounds and/or ask your favorite coffee shop to save grounds for you and pick them up by May 25th
- Shredded paper
- Leaves/Straw – UNSPRAYED and Pesticide free
- Grass Clipping – UNSPRAYED and Pesticide free
Don’t have materials to bring? We will need wheelbarrels and rakes too. Just put your name on it. Dress appropriately for the weather and bring work gloves.
