This is a garden tour sharing garden wisdom and a potluck sharing our garden dishes and the recipe. Please bring a dish made from your garden (at least 2 garden ingredients) and the recipe on a 3×5. What can we share about how to create yummy dishes with our produce? Prepare to have your senses delighted! And have fun visiting!
We are excited to meet and visit the Food Forest and Community Garden at Chanshtnu Muldoon Park in East Anchorage for the Picnic Tour! Come enjoy this impressive new municipal park with a Food Forest, community garden with regular and table height raised beds, 2 dog parks, kids bike track and play structures, a creek, and more! It is located on the 27-acre old Alaska Greenhouse site with Chester Creek running through it. The address is 1301 Muldoon Road. We will meet at the picnic structure there to eat then proceed to the gardens after we are belly full of bounty. The community garden and food forest are further east. From Muldoon turn east on 12th then take your next right and you will run into the parking lot of the gardens.
Please bring your own plate, cup, utensils, napkin, and chair or picnic blanket.
If you don’t have time to prepare a dish to share, don’t stay home! Instead, please bring a freshly picked flower bouquet, wildflowers, weeds, vegetable leaves. Have fun and let your creativity flow!
