Anchor Garden members are all invited to our first Picnic Tour event Sunday, June 29, 6-8pm!
Expand your own Alaskan fresh-from-the-garden recipe trove! This is a garden tour sharing Jeanna Duryee’s eastside garden and a potluck sharing our garden dishes and the recipe. Jeanna is an herbalist that harvests and prepares local plant medicines that she uses in her physical therapy practice. She has been gracing us with her delicious cow parsnip salad and pesto. Jeanna will be serving a collection of traditional local plant teas. Her garden features a new super handsome DIY greenhouse, experiments with a food forest and hugelculture, container gardening, and valued cow parsnip!
Please bring a dish made from your garden (at least 2 garden ingredients) and the recipe on a 3x5in card. How many ways can we use our produce? Prepare to have your senses delighted! And have fun visiting!
Also, please bring your own plate, cup, utensils, napkin, and chair or picnic blanket.
If you don’t have time to prepare a dish to share, don’t stay home; please bring a freshly picked flower bouquet, wildflowers, weeds, vegetable leaves. Have fun and let your creativity flow!
Thank you, Jeanna, for offering your garden space for our first 2025 Picnic Tour! Jeanna’s address is 1570 Beaver Place near Debarr and east of Boniface. This is an outdoor event. Dress for the weather. There is street parking; please do not block driveways. There are uneven walkways so this event is best for the firm-footed. Kids are ok, no dogs please.
